FACILITY CERTIFICATION AND ACCREDITATION
The Plastic Surgery Center is a fully accredited for ambulatory surgery and is regularly inspected and certified by the AAAASF. We meet or exceed all standards of care for ambulatory centers. We specialize in procedures for cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and thus have the specialized equipment and an experienced staff focused to provide the safest and the highest level of surgical outcomesSURGEONS
All surgeons on our staff must be eligible or certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery or other surgical specialty. Our surgeons must be accredited at a regional hospital including Stanford Hospital, Lucille Packard Childrens Hospital, Sequoia Hospital, El Camino Hospital, Peninsula Hospital or Good Samaritan Hospital.

ANESTHESIA
Procedures at the Plastic Surgery Center are performed with either local or general anesthesia. The decision about what type of anesthesia will be determined by a discussion between the patient and the surgeon with consultation with the anesthesiologist.
GENERAL ANESTHESIA
Procedures with general anesthesia are administered by a board certified anesthesiologist who is a member of the
Associated Anesthesia Medical Group (AAMG), or on the Staff at Plastic Surgery Center. AAMG is an incorporated group of Board Certified anesthesiologists in private practice who provide anesthetic care at Stanford University Hospital and other locations in the Palo Alto area.

Procedures with local anesthesia are administered and monitored by your surgeon and a nurse. They use monitoring for heart and lungs. Intravenous medications are used for sedation and pain management. Your surgeon will determine which medications will be used and will instruct the nurse as to when and how much medication to administer.
